Transparent header with merged content

I'm using GP premium and Generate Blocks Pro on https://newsite.mumfordcompanies.com. Want to have a merged hero image on the home page with only a black header on the other pages. I've set the background color for the header element to black in the customizer. For the home page, I've created a header element and selected merge with content and set the navigation background color to transparent. The black color on the home page persists. As an alternate, I also added a bit of CSS to set the .site-header to transparent on the home page, which does remove the black color, but the image doesn't appear. It looks like there's another header element underneath because it's white. Any ideas?
Hi Lisa,
Can you take a look at video and see if it's helpful?

Make sure to clear your caching plugin after making any changes as well or simply disable it while developing the site.
I had watched that and followed the steps before sending the request. Didn't help. The header merges, but the color doesn't become transparent. When I force it with CSS the header turns white, like there's a secondary element there.
I don't have any caching plugins active at the moment.

That's the background color of the body.
As you can see in the below video, if I change your header color to transparent, the bg color becomes white, then I changed the body bg color, it becomes red.

I don't see a header element has been created on this page, can you make sure it's there?
Let me know :)
Although that works, is that the best solution? I don't have to apply a negative margin when one of the premium templates, namely Wired, is used. Using the merge content selection in the header element essentially does that function. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Ying actually edited her answer above so not sure if you saw it.
Currently, we don't see a merged header element applied to the front page.
Is the one you created still active? Can you make sure the display rules is set to the front page?

Breeze cache is definitely activated on your site:

I had deactivated the Breeze plugin and it's still not active, but I originally set the header element display rule for home page, and not front page. Changing it to front page took care of it.
Thanks for the help, Leo and Ying. Much appreciated.
Resolved.
You are welcome :)
