would it be possible to post a "direct" link to updates (i.e. 1.7.3-beta.2) For whatever reason I cannot update Generate press via WordPress and have to download the zip file and manually install using Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades

just a FYI
Unfortunately the system doesn't allow for direct links currently.

not to make more of this than there really is my issue is:
"Update Failed: Could not create directory. gp-premium"
which is not listed on the page . . . /#could-not-copy-file
site is not on a localHost and is on a windows server
this is all just an FYI as the work around is getting an error message and then copying the error message link in WP
The cause is the same between not being able to copy files/directories. If it's a live site, the issue is with the permissions set on the server. Your hosting support should be able to resolve it quite easily.
