We have a client that is agreeable to moving off of their previous, “one-off” custom theme to GeneratePress. However, there’s one issue in which we need some guidance.

In their global nav, they have two tabs to switch between the Residential navigation and Business navigation. (see screenshot below)

We are just wondering what the best approach would be to build this out using GeneratePress Premium?

Any tips or guidance would be most appreciated!

Interesting, should be possible using a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/conditional-menus/

I’m not sure if their conditions support it, but it would be perfect if you could choose a menu for child pages of a page (Business). If that’s possible, it should be super easy to create a secondary navigation with a link to the Business page. If on that page or a child of that page, use the plugin to show the different menu in the primary navigation.

Thank you Tom! I appreciate you making us aware of this plugin.

I was able to do some initial tests of the “Conditional Menus” plugin locally, and it looks promising. I liked your idea about choosing child pages of a certain page (e.g. Residential), but the plugin does not, unfortunately, support conditions that advanced.

I will report back once we’ve explored a bit deeper. Thanks again for the point in the right direction.
