Stupid WP 5.0 update question

If I don't want to use Gutenberg, I still can update to the newest WP version, right?
Just update, then active the "Classic Editor" plugin. Everything will be as before?

thats correct, in the Classic Editor plugin settings you can choose to Replace Gutenberg with the Classic Editor. More like sensible, lets not break things question :) Always backup your site before a major WP update just to be super safe.
