Stop Woocommerce gallery images being served on mobile

Hi, I am trying to speed up my site and found that gallery images are slowing down page load speed quite lot: When I remove the gallery images my Google insight score on mobile goes up from 50 to 77. The load speed is fine on desktop with the gallery images. I have tried adding CSS I found on this forum which successfully hides the gallery images on mobile, but this doesn't improve the load speed score. Is there a way to stop the gallery images being served only on mobile devices?

This would be a question for WooCommerce support team unfortunately.
I don't believe WooCommerce has a filter to remove the gallery on mobile only.
