Still recommending WP Show Posts?

As for now, WPSP is still the way to go - I'm not aware of other block plugins that offer similar option.

We are considering adding posts block to GenerateBlocks to replace WPSP in the future though but no concrete plans for that yet.

I would still go with WPSP for now :)

Are there plans to update the plugin? It currently says it's been tested to 5.5.5.

Has WP Show Posts been tested on WordPress 5.6, 5.7, or 5.8?

Honest disclosure:
While we've yet to do a full test on WPSP to find what WP 5.8 may have broken, so far, it seems to work just fine on my testing site.

Looking at WP 5.8's changelog - https://wordpress.org/support/wordpress-version/version-5-8/ - I don't see anything that will break WPSP (assuming you're using free version, meaning no carousel and other scripts)

Can someone update the "tested up to" version to 5.6 or 5.7 so the WordPress.org plugin repository warning message doesn't display?

I have clients asking why their sites are using plugins that haven't been tested for recent WordPress versions.

WordPress makes that compatibility note difficult to apply unfortunately.

We will see what we can do.

I must be missing something. I thought the only change was to the readme.txt file to indicate the "tested up to" version.

Yes but there are certain WordPress requirements that need to be tested/met before it can be updated.

My understanding is, since it's not a new version of the plugin, all that needs to be done is the change to "tested up to" version in the latest tagged version.

As described in this post by Anthony Hortin.

Since it hasn't been updated in 11 months, can you tell me when the readme.txt is scheduled to be updated?
