Sticky add to cart button on variable product

Hello! Currently for variable products, the sticky add to cart button shows "select options"
That when you click, you scroll through the variations to choose one and add it to the cart.
I have seen in several e-commerce sites, and many of them in the sticky add to cart place a drop-down menu for the variations. It would be great if in GPP 1.8 this was available both for mobile and desktop.

That works if there are only one or two variations, but there's no way for us to tell how many there are. You can imagine how it would look if there were more than a couple of variations. As of right now, the Select Options route is the safest, but we may re-visit it one day.
