I am trying to use the WP Show Posts plugin on my GeneratePress website, but the post I want to be sticky is not behaving that way, and is getting pushed off by new posts.\
Thank you so much!July 1, 2019 at 9:57 am #946284Joe
Sorry to be a pain, but if you could advise Tom that would be great!July 1, 2019 at 10:08 am #946298TomLead DeveloperLead Developer
I’m not seeing any sticky posts on the page – they should have a sticky-post class if it’s set. Can you confirm which post is set as a sticky post?July 1, 2019 at 10:10 am #946302Joe
Thanks, the post titled “The Reason Behind Three Tuna Subs” was set as a sticky post in the back end.

Sorry, it absolutely is set like that in the back end. Is this because I am using the shortcode from the plugin?July 1, 2019 at 10:18 am #946308Joe
It applies the sticky class on a test page I set up, and then made it the WordPress default post page:
So maybe something is getting lost in the plugin?July 1, 2019 at 10:19 am #946310TomLead DeveloperLead Developer
I just tested the plugin and sticky posts are working normally.
Maybe you have a plugin activated which is causing the issue?July 1, 2019 at 10:20 am #946315Joe
Thanks Tom, I will look into this.July 1, 2019 at 10:24 am #946318Joe
Hmmm, nope. Deactivated all plugins except the ones that should go together and still having issues. Do you mind telling me how you set things up when you implemented the plugin?July 1, 2019 at 10:41 am #946331Joe
I have no idea what is causing this, deactivated all plugins and tried it on another site and it workedJuly 1, 2019 at 10:49 am #946336TomLead DeveloperLead Developer
So you’ll want to reactivate things one by one until the issue comes back. It’s likely something is conflicting with the query.
It could also be a custom function on your site if you have any.July 1, 2019 at 10:55 am #946338Joe
Ok, looks like I was able to isolate the problem.
It does not seem to be a plugin conflict.
When I do not specify a category to display in the show posts list, the sticky post works- however, I have it set to display six posts from the “featured” category, the sticky post function does not work.

So to summarize, the sticky post does not seem to work when posts are filtered on the Show Posts plugin.July 1, 2019 at 11:16 am #946355Joe
Let me know if you have any ideas for a fix/work around to this.
