Joe
Hello-
I am trying to use the WP Show Posts plugin on my GeneratePress website, but the post I want to be sticky is not behaving that way, and is getting pushed off by new posts.\
Thank you so much!

Sorry to be a pain, but if you could advise Tom that would be great!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
I’m not seeing any sticky posts on the page – they should have a sticky-post class if it’s set. Can you confirm which post is set as a sticky post?

Hi Tom-
Thanks, the post titled “The Reason Behind Three Tuna Subs” was set as a sticky post in the back end.
Thanks!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperCan you double-check that it’s still set that way? It’s missing the sticky-post class.

Sorry, it absolutely is set like that in the back end. Is this because I am using the shortcode from the plugin?

It applies the sticky class on a test page I set up, and then made it the WordPress default post page:
https://www.jsurge.org/post-test/
So maybe something is getting lost in the plugin?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI just tested the plugin and sticky posts are working normally.
Maybe you have a plugin activated which is causing the issue?

Thanks Tom, I will look into this.

Hmmm, nope. Deactivated all plugins except the ones that should go together and still having issues. Do you mind telling me how you set things up when you implemented the plugin?

I have no idea what is causing this, deactivated all plugins and tried it on another site and it worked

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperSo you’ll want to reactivate things one by one until the issue comes back. It’s likely something is conflicting with the query.
It could also be a custom function on your site if you have any.

Ok, looks like I was able to isolate the problem.
It does not seem to be a plugin conflict.
When I do not specify a category to display in the show posts list, the sticky post works- however, I have it set to display six posts from the “featured” category, the sticky post function does not work.
Thanks!

So to summarize, the sticky post does not seem to work when posts are filtered on the Show Posts plugin.

Let me know if you have any ideas for a fix/work around to this.
thanks!
