Hi there,

I installed SSL on a site. Chrome Inspector says:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://fuer-starter.de/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://www.fuer-starter.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Logo_230x46-1.png'. This content should also be served over HTTPS.

How can I solve this?

I have already read / tried

You may want to try renaming the original files, uploading them again and replacing the existing files

Hi David,

good idea!

Unfortunately, it did not work.

I have now deleted the logo and the favicon in the customizer and in the media library. I also deleted the corresponding files with Filezilla.

Chrome inspector still shows the warnings.

It seems like Wordpress or Generate Press produces old code that I can't change.

What a mess ...

There's a couple places I'm seeing http:// images being served.

1. Inside Simple CSS, you have a background-image using http://.

2. The mobile header. You should be able to fix this easily by re-uploading your mobile header image in "Customize > Layout > Header". This will only work if your URLs have https in "Settings > General".

3. Multiple places within your content. A plugin like Velvet Blues Update URLs should definitely take care of these.

4. In your footer widget (Footer Widget 1 area).

You can also just use a plugin like this to force https everywhere: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/

Hi Tom, hi David,

I'm ashamed and I apologize.

I actually forgot to enter the new URLs in Settings > General. Usually that's the first thing I do... Obviously not this time. Sorry!

Thanks a million for all your good advice. Especially the tip "Really Simple SLL" helped me to repair a friend's website. She uses a funny theme I don't know. I will persuade her to GeneratePress soon.

Roland

Glad you got it working! :)
