Slide navigation not working

There a problem with my slide navigation since I upgraded my theme to the latest version.
The text doesn't shows which make the slide navigation useless on tablets and smartphone.The text is currently set to be black / Background is white. I am able to change to color of the background but the text is not visible.
Please advice asap. Thank you.

Are you sure the slideout navigation has a menu assigned to it?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-wordpress-menu-builder/#setting-a-theme-location
