Size of featured images

this will depend on your site layout.
Do you have a site we can see and i can provide some advice?

I thought there was a default size.

If you are going to use this template, it's best to use 700px x 400px as featured images :)

How can you tell the size used in each template?

And if I use bigger sizes, does it resize properly?

Hi there,

the sizes vary depending on the site layout.
If you Right Click > Inspect an image to open the browser developers tools, and hover over the image in the Element list it will show you the size of the image.

So that means I can't switch from one template / site layout to another without running into image size issues?

You can switch site template, the image will resize by itself. But if the image you uploaded is smaller than the ones presented in the new template, the image might be pixelated.
