Should we start using Gutenberg yet?

I'm currently using Site Origin Page Builder on several websites and curious what you think as a theme developer about installing Gutenberg. My understanding is that it will allow me to remove the page builder plugin and still achieve similar design results. No doubt it will become the standard editing platform at some stage so I'm deciding whether to trial it now on a live site or on a dev subdomain. My main concerns are compatibility issues with the current page builder plugin I'm using and transferring the current layouts to the Gutenberg editor.
Has anyone tested it with Generate Press and Site Origin plugins who can provide some thoughts on its compatibility and usability?
Will it involve rebuilding my existing pages under the new editor?
Is it worth using it now or wait a while longer to reduce dealing with bugs that may not have been addressed yet?
I would love to hear some thoughts from a developer's perspective.
Richard
Hi Richard,
the plus point is that SiteOrigin have been quite pro-active (please note i don't use it and haven't tested it):

I think Gutenberg is still a way from stable release. I would suggest not switching over on a live site but a staging server to see how SO and Gutenberg perform. But it sounds like they have your back covered :)
Thanks David
I was thinking along the same lines. It's hard to imagine the Gutenberg release will happen before almost all bugs are sorted otherwise it could mean disaster for WPress. If it's all it's being promoted as, hopefully it might mean eventually doing away with a page builder plugin. And I'm a huge fan of bare necessity plugins and lightweight themes. It will be interesting to see if Gutenberg "blocks" will be as HTML heavy as most page builder plugins.
You're welcome.
Currently GB Blocks are very lightweight. As they have a specific purpose as opposed to a one size fits all mentality. Its not to say that we won't see more 'page builder' type blocks appear as plugins. But good developers will keep them lean :)
