Shortcode in Menu For Social Icons

I am using the shortcode for Ultimate Social Media Icons to put them in my primary nav bar, however they don't line up correctly. I have to put a bottom margin of -60px to get them positioned correctly.

When the page loads, it take a while for these icons to pop into their correct location. Ultimate Social Media tech support says that the behaviour of the shortcodes is dependent on the theme.

Is there some way of positioning these icons other than the custom CSS I'm using that might prevent the delay in positioning?

Thank you.

Hi Mary,

There are tons of inline styles etc.. which are determining the position of the icons. Not sure why they'd say it's dependent on the theme.

I believe the delay you're seeing is the selector being added using javascript. So the CSS doesn't apply to anything until javascript adds the class. There's no way around that unless there's a static class you can use.

Have you considered adding the icons as an icon font to the menu items?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-icons-to-menu-items/

Thanks Tom. Yes I have done that before. I appreciate you reminding me. I will do it that way again.

Much appreciated!

No problem :)
