I have used elementor and woocommerce to create an online shop. The ‘shop’ title of the page is appearing twice on the shop page only – I have checked all the settings and removed the option from both Elementor and within the generatepress theme customisation options. Can anyone help?

how are you adding the Description to the Shop Page ?

I have just checked all the woocommerce settings and theme template settings and I embarrassingly have no idea how I managed to put that there – I cannot find any settings to edit it!

Is it possible that it’s added by another plugin?

    Or Hooks maybe?

I’ve checked a section called ‘hooks’ under the woocommerce plugin, and all the plugins to do with woocommerce but I still can’t find it – sorry, I’m a complete novice!

What about GP’s Hooks elements module?
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/hooks-element-overview/

If not then try disabling all plugins except GP premium and see if the description is still there.

    Let me know πŸ™‚

    Hi Leo,

I have checked the documentation and I am not using the hooks feature.

I disabled all the plugins and I was not able to access the shop page at all. Does this mean its a woocommerce plugin problem?

    Couple of things:

    1. Try deactivating Yoast to see if this adding a description.

    if not

    2. Can you edit the actual shop page? And let us know what you see in there.

    Hi David,

I deactivated Yoast but the description and two titles were still there.

I am using Elementor page builder, but the page builder will not load/does not allow me to edit the shop page.

What if you delete the current shop page and then create a new one.
You can get Woo to create the page by:

Dashboard > Woocommerce > Status > Tools > Create default WooCommerce pages
It will only create the missing ones.

That works, but the shop description disappears also!

I have actually no idea how I managed to put it in the first time! πŸ™ˆ I have gone through all the settings and can’t see how I managed to do it! It looks like it will just have to not have a description haha! Thank you for all your help!

How bizarre – its not a default thing for Woo πŸ™‚
If you want we can assist with hooking in a description. Let me know.

That would be great! I have never used hooks before – not sure what they are!
