Setting up portfolio look with pages not posts.

Hello.
I have a protfolio page for my writing samples.
Many link to other sites or to PDFs.
I've seen how I can create the look I want with WP show post, but this is only if everything is in a post not a page.
If I create my writing samples in posts, then they will show up on the blog page. When I use WP show posts I can not have them show up etc, but in the regular post page they will.
Is there any way to do what I want to do?
The look I liked is from Blogger template, but I am using the wordsmith template which I love. Thank you.

Not fully understand what you are trying to achieve.
WP Show Posts can be used to display Pages as well if that helps?
