Setting background with shapes

I wonder if you could give me some advice.

I want to set a background with some shapes to give my site some visual interest as it will have a white background as standard.

I have found a site that has a similar effect to what I am looking for, but I'm not sure how they are applying it. I have added a link to that site.

Is there a simple way to do this?

I have also added a link to my own site which I am just getting started on.

both links are added privately for privacy

Is it possible to have a continuous shape throughout the whole page?

You would have to add that as Background image to Body. Which can be done in Customizer > Backgrounds ( make sure the Backgrounds module is enabled in GP ).

I gave that a go but I couldn't get my image to show.

Could it be that my background colour is blocking it from showing? Or something like that?

I have went through each of the containers on the homepage and removed any colour settings but I still can't get it to show.

When I'm changing settings from the customiser it flashes for a split second and then "hides behind" the site again...

Hi Craig,

Go to Customizing > Colors > Content, check if its background color is set to #ffffff, if so, change it to transparent.

Hi Ying,

I have set background to rgba(255,255,255,0) I take it that does the same thing?

I couldn't see anywhere to enter the word transparent

I have published this but nothing seems to have changed

Actually I can see something now when I scroll to the bottom of the site

I just need to find an abstract image which will show like the example site link I added

You can try setting the background image to repeat to see if it's working properly.

Let me know :)

It's working!

Just need to find a better background now!

Glad to hear that :)
