Set the latest post as the homepage

Sounds like the the Latest Posts is the option you are looking for.

I want to set just one post as the homepage...the most recent one... Not a set of latest posts.

you could set on setting -> reading, set Blog pages show at most to 1, so you can see only 1 latest post

That setting shows one post but not the full content of the post - I need a full display of the post as if I have landed on that post.

You can make it show full post using the customizer option:

Hi Leo, yes it shows the post content if I customize Layout->Blog->Content->Archives to show Full Content. But I am using a template for the post using Elementor - added some share buttons and other widgets. Those extra Elementor widgets are not shown in the full view of the post. It seems the post content is shown according to default WP template - Elementor template cannot override that

I believe Elementor cannot be used on index pages (blog, archive etc).

I think you need Everywhere Elementor for that.

@sumanta, have you figured out a solution for this? I have run into the exact same issue.

I just did some research and I'm not sure it's possible.
