Hi there
I am not experiencing any bugs or problems with the GP theme per se.
I however want to ask for ideas on how I can implement theme previews on my own website.
For example, on sites like studiopress.com, wpastra.com as well as Generatepress.com. You have the option to view and click theme thumbnails and in order to view the theme preview or theme demo.
I want to achieve the same thing on my personal website. At the moment I am experimenting with a few ideas on this Pilvia site test page (https://experiments.pilvia.site/theme-preview/) If you visit this page I have put up a random thumbnail. So when the thumbnail is clicked, it fetches and opens up my website (https://kaapdigital.co.za) in an iframe.
This method uses the Fancy Light box plugin to display external websites in an iframe. It looks good but the light box doesn’t open up a full screen display to cover up the parent website.
Just want to ask how the team at Generate press implements their site library previews and if they’d be willing to share their code. My solution is a bit limited and I am running into some scrolling issues between the iframe and the parent webpage as well.
But if I succeed using the iframe method, I hope to install a lot of starter sites from the Generatepress’ starter sites (and Wpastra’s ready websites) on individual subdomains on my server and then visitors on my website can click on theme thumbnails so they can see or preview the individual starter themes via lightbox or iframe. Frankly, the solutions used by Tom on generatepress for theme previews are neat but most likely complex. I’d like to ask for help on how I can implement this on my website. I am still levelling up on my coding and PHP and JavaScript is still Greek to me π
Thanks for the support as always
Looming forward to your responseAugust 29, 2018 at 7:09 pm #663808TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
We actually built a custom solution for our Site Library.
However, you can likely just use something like this: https://codecanyon.net/item/fbar-responsive-wordpress-demo-switch-bar-plugin/5117122
Hope this helps π

You clearly know your stuff lol because I checked out Envato yesterday and most of the solutions I found were last updated 2015 or years ago. But this developer looks like he hasn’t abandoned his work though. Thanks Tom for your help as always
