I’ve been battling sections and other issues for weeks now.

Whether it’s adding a <p> tag, stripping <p> tags or the new issue I’m having when I place content into a section and hit save, it’s just deleting and nothing is showing up in the section.

This all happening with the visual composer turned off.

When the visual composer is turned on, it works….but then when I click back over to Visual Composer and back to the HTML editor

1: it’s just removing my <p> tags (which I know are there still from WP putting them there) so thats….I guess? Fine? Which I just can’t stand to begin with…

2: It’s compiling and almost minimizing everything which is super annoying as well.

    This is all on 1.7.8.

But there’s issues with 1.8.0 as well i’ve gone back and forth numerous times and cannot find anything to work for me.

I just want to ONLY USE HTML, without adding or subtracting or messing with/compressing any HTML and the ability to use sections.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

The only solution I’ve found so far is to have the visual composer turned on and just NEVER click over to it from the HTML editor.

Which when you accidentally do…you have to edit all of the spacing and add back the <p>’s if you want them visually there.

Unless you store each and every bit of code on your local computer which just get’s tedious.

I’m going to just write my own Sections in html/css. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.

    Thanks

WordPress 5.0 did introduce some issues, but we have most of those fixed in 1.8.0. I think the main issues you’re having are issues with the actual TinyMCE editor.

Our Sections block in Gutenberg is coming soon, and is much better overall 🙂
