sections before footer

I need to have a full width slider of client logos scrolling on existing homepage. I tried using sections but cant find away to add sidebars on the sections. Also adding sections on existing pages completely disables the existing page layout.
Tried using hooks on before footer with a conditional is frontpage php code which does get executed but the carousel shortcode doesn't work within that.

The before footer content hook should be the best way to go.
Not sure why it isn't working for you though. Can you provide the code you added here?
