Hi Leo:
Was thinking of replacing my follow buttons in my secondary menu with some sort of “Small- narrow “ subscribe opt in box. Any decent options for that? ( I assume that the subscribe bar would have to go to another page as to the height narrowness of secondary menu? )

Can a widget or hook go there?August 27, 2018 at 7:28 pm #661745LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi Howard,
Little hard to picture what you are trying to achieve. How are you going to insert the subscribe form?
Do you have an example to show?
If you want to use widget in menu, this should help:
https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-in-menu/If the subscribe form is in shortcode, then we might be able to use the generate_inside_secondary_navigation hook.
August 28, 2018 at 7:44 am #662169HowardHi Leo:
Either of those 2 links look promising
Example of my objective:http://preview.codecanyon.net/item/foobar-wordpress-notification-bars/full_screen_preview/411466
Hit menu – email signup(The purple bar would be my secondary menu…. the black bar above (code canyon) my primary menu.
A narrow email/ sign up bar in secondary is objective . I would opt for stationary; not moving.I’ll go with your above links as to which might be better after you look at my example above
ThanksAugust 28, 2018 at 7:15 pm #662861LeoStaffCustomer SupportSorry I’m not sure what to look at here?
I don’t see a subscribe button there.
I see a top bar with changing messages.
August 28, 2018 at 7:46 pm #662875HowardYes.. in effect, the burgundy bar would be secondary (sign up)menu bar with my opt in form — eg. e-mail…sign up now!
Above it would be primary menu in black.August 29, 2018 at 8:23 am #663409LeoStaffCustomer SupportIf it’s something like that then Top Bar widget area is actually a better option:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/top-bar-widget-area/September 11, 2018 at 11:04 am #674609HowardHi Leo:
Been experimenting with options and plugins as to the above (been a few weeks)
Anyway… I installed WP notifications bar plugin as here:
http://www.thesoundadvocate.comThis is not a widget- just installs the bar as seen (with options)
Can this bar be placed somehow in my secondary navigation in any type of way? (Or would plugin provider know better?)Optionally, can any subscribe links and/or buttons be put in secondary navigation (would have to go to another page obviously.. is that called landing page??).
Might then remove above WP notifications bar…
HowardSeptember 11, 2018 at 3:18 pm #674760LeoStaffCustomer SupportI’m not familiar with the plugin but I highly doubt it would work that way – the plugin author will certain know better for sure.
You can add buttons inside navigation like this:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-buttons-navigation/September 11, 2018 at 6:42 pm #674866HowardThe documentation on adding buttons for secondary nav. Is straightforward enough— but where does one get the actual buttons; ( icons) eg. Subscribe, contribute, advertise etc
Fontawsome??September 11, 2018 at 7:07 pm #674880TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperA plugin like this might help?: https://wordpress.org/plugins/menu-icons/
September 13, 2018 at 8:32 am #676454HowardThis is a fine plugin. Lots of variables and options.
Thanks so much Tom!👌September 13, 2018 at 12:37 pm #676644HowardResolved
