Search excerpt

Working on a plugin and I don't want to load assets on the homepage if a post contains something. The homepage displays in excerpt mode. Is there a way to search only the excerpt content displayed? I don't want to search the whole post content for each post.
It depends on how you're searching your content. How are you searching the full post?
