Scalable Footer image

Hi there,
hi Tom,
is it possible, when the footer image (at Footer Area) ist set to 100% Width, to scale in the full height (aspect-ratio)? I only found padding of Footer to set with px - but that wastes too much space if its viewed on smaller devices.
