Hi
The header of my single posts is full length like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/g4uFerQ5L
Now I want the header to be smaller like it was once like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/LhABMDGQ
Actually, it’s set this way in the element: https://www.screencast.com/t/LhABMDGQ
I would love some help, please
Thank you!
November 1, 2020 at 7:11 am #1513361DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
you need to delete the Header Element that you have assigned to your single posts:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
If you’re unsure about deleting them, you can Quick Edit the element and change its status to draft.
November 1, 2020 at 10:56 am #1513660SimoneHi David,
Thank you for your reply.
I deleted the element and now my pictures are back to the size I wanted.
Just one more thing please. HHow can I have the author name and the title of the article showing on the feature image in the header?
I use to put this code in the element. But now I can’t anymore.
<h1>
{{post_title}}
</h1>{{post_date}} • {{post_author}}November 1, 2020 at 12:29 pm #1513739TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Yes, drafting the Header Element shouldn’t affect your content.
If you “Draft” it, you can always re-publish it if you need it back.
November 1, 2020 at 1:03 pm #1513767SimoneHi Tom,
Sorry, that was not my question. I asked where can I put the code that I used to have in the element for the title and date of the article to show on the picture.
In short, where should I put this code? <h1>
{{post_title}}
</h1>{{post_date}} • {{post_author}}
November 1, 2020 at 1:17 pm #1513782LeoStaffCustomer SupportThat would go in the header element content box:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/#content-1November 2, 2020 at 7:34 am #1514453SimoneHi Leo,
I don’t have the element anymore as I deleted it. Can you tell me where and what code should I put to allow the date and title of the article show on the header image?
Thank you!
November 2, 2020 at 8:40 am #1514819DavidStaffCustomer SupportYou will need to create a new Header Element in Appearance > Elements:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
Then you can follow the steps Leo provided here:

November 2, 2020 at 9:31 am #1514889SimoneHi David
What element do I have to create? I don’t want to change the layer of the post. I just want to add a title and date on the header post.
What should I do please?November 2, 2020 at 10:08 am #1514954LeoStaffCustomer SupportThat would be the header element.
This article provides you the step by step guide to create it:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/how-to-create-a-page-hero/November 3, 2020 at 12:18 am #1515636SimoneI don’t understand what I need to do. Can you please help?
November 3, 2020 at 5:25 am #1515927DavidStaffCustomer SupportIf you go to Appearance > Elements at the top of the list you will see something like this:
All (5) | Published (3) | Drafts (2) | Trash (1)
Does the Trash still contain the element you deleted?
If so click Trash, then select Restore below the element.
November 4, 2020 at 11:27 pm #1518541SimoneHi David
If I do this, my post layout will come as it was.November 5, 2020 at 1:27 am #1518639DavidStaffCustomer SupportYes, that is the only simple way of displaying the Title over the Featured Image.
Do you want that to be displayed inside the post content ?November 6, 2020 at 5:18 am #1520288SimoneYes, but I want the feature image to be like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/LhABMDGQ
How can I set it up this way with the title and date on it?
