replace background pic in header with shortcode slider

I would like to replace the background pic on my homepage header with a slider with a shortcode. I am unable to find anything on this. I am using the construction site template.

Hi Jane,
The easiest method is to remove the entire first container and its content then replace with the slider shortcode there:

I would recommend adding the content/text for the slider directly inside the slider itself.
