Repeater / offset for dynamic Element

I've tried looking but I might not be using the right words....so here goes nothing.
When using the dynamic content block - is there a way to offset posts to display? I know that the first post can be offset with the parent option, but is there a way to further control things? Unless that's what the Display Order is for. In which case, insert grimmace emoji here.

no Offset option at this time, its either All Posts, First Post or Posts within a specific Term or has specific Post Meta ( Custom Field ).
"at this time".......... that means.................it's possibly coming in the future? :-)

Any chance I can get a little more info on this so I can wrap my head around it? It may be possible with a current filter.
Hey Tom! Hope you're staying safe :-) Thanks for reaching out. I suspect that it might be possible, but that 'getting my head around it' part is where I'm derping. It's not a big deal, and I suspect the content-first type of site isn't the way most people use GP, so I am very much in the minority for this being at the top of a wishlist.
I've added some additional references in the 'off the record' box, but in essence, I'm trying to find an alternative to WPShowPosts that does not require another plugin. But take your pick from any news publisher you might frequent and you'll get the idea.
I'm mainly looking to build specific homepage layouts for content-heavy sites, but with the luxury of bespoke design should it be required. For example, say there is a site that does WordPress news, the home page might be divided into sections called news, themes, plugins, security, tutorials - or whatever.
The challenge is that some sites might use categories to organise while others will use tags. And, in some cases, the posts will need to pull from both.
So while I can build some really efficient layouts for each individual archive page- with the parent/child element, I might not want that look and feel to apply to the home page look - even if the posts are coming from the same category.
Hopefully that makes sense. Heh. I feel like I am stuck in a loop thinking through the logic.
Aha, this isn't really how the Content Template was meant to function. It's more of a replacement for the standard theme loop in your blog and archives (or your single posts/pages).
It sounds like you need a Query block. I know one is coming in WP 5.8, and we're also gearing up to start building one as well, which will likely be in GenerateBlocks.

Nonetheless, learning the trick of the parent template for archive posts has been a revelation. What a nifty little trick.
