Remove /tag from Tag Archives URL?

Is it possible to remove the /tag/ part of the URL for tag archives? I can remove the /category/ part of the URL with RankMath, Yoast, etc. but I would also like to strip /tag/
I'm hoping there's a Hook or other PHP?

That's something you have to change on WP Admin Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks.

Didn't work. I turned off the category strip in RankMath and then used the permalink settings but the archive URLs did not behave like I want.
It seems trivial to turn off /category/ but not so much for /tag/. Weird.
Can you try clearing the Rankmath setting for permalinks and let WP handle it and check if it works?
You may also have to edit the tag and save it again w/o changing anything for it to apply properly.
If you wish to keep the Rankmath setting for permalinks you'll have to contact their support to ask why it's not working.

No luck, Just lots of 404s. Thanks for responding so quickly. I suspect it's a RankMath issue and their support is not my fav.

That's possible. It's best to sort it out on the third-party plugin's end first.
