[Support request] Remove Page Links From Home Hero / WPShowPosts

Hi, I am using WPShowPosts to display pages inside my home hero front page. I want to exclude eg. the ‘about’ page from the generated links. How would this be achieved?

Hi Craig,

We’ve stopped updating or supporting WP show posts, unfortunately, as we’ve merged its function to the Query loop block of GenerateBlocks. https://wpshowposts.com/weve-made-the-decision-to-merge-wp-show-posts-with-generateblocks/

I would suggest using the Query loop block to replace all the WP show posts lists, it has the option to exclude certain pages from the query loop.

Hi, the query loop is a very cool feature, however I can’t get it to exclude a post. I have tested that exclude by author works, but it seems that exclude by post doesn’t work as intended. The drop down list shows me all my posts, but it does not actually remove the selected post from the query loop. Any suggestions?

No, not sticky, post format is standard, author is Craig. As I say, if I exclude posts by ‘Craig’, it removes it correctly. Thanks for looking into this, I’m sure it’s something basic I have done wrong!

This is odd. Can you try creating a new Post and try excluding that to test? Let’s see if the issue is specific to the current post you’re trying to exclude or if it exists for all posts.

Hi, Unfortunately, it is present for a new test post. https://imgur.com/a/wV7HH4I Maybe there is some odd interaction with MPG (multi page generator) assuming this behaviour is not a known bug for all sites. I also removed some custom CSS that I put into the MPG menu for post searching but, unsurprisingly, this didn’t seem to make any difference.

can you try disabling all plugins to eliminate conflicts from plugins?

And make sure cache is cleared. Let me know 🙂
