Remove left sidebar

I've chosen content/sidebar instead of sidebar/content/sidebar for all three choices in appearance/customize/layout/sidebars but the left sidebar still shows. Thanks.

have you changed the sidebar requirement using the Layout Metabox in the post editor:

Or used the Layout Element:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/
Layout Elements overide the Customizer, and Layout Meta Box overrides Layout Element and Customizer.
