Remove Date From Blog Post URL

Is there a way to manually remove the dates that are automatically inserted in the URL of blog posts?
And is there a way to prevent the date from being automatically inserted into the URL of future posts?
Hi there,
you can edit the permalink structure in Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks - just select Post Name and thats how they will all be displayed.
Thank you, David. Can the URL's of existing posts be edited to remove dates already in the URL?
Okay, I see now that changing the setting also removed the date from all the previous posts.
Thats correct it will update all past, present and future URLs to that structure.
Hi,
I'm just came onto this post. How do you remove dates from the posts themselves?
