remove author title

hello, i'd like to remove the author title from my posts. I went into gp customizing>layout>blog and unchecked the "display post author". I then cleared the cache, opened a new private browser (firefox, I made the changes in chrome) and looked at a single post. The author is listed.
How can I remove the author listing? THanks.
