Hi,
Is it possible to create a related post/page using a block element without needing Wp show post plugin?

Hi there,
no - the GPP 2.0 content templates only apply to the themes archive templates.
If you want a static page to display a list of posts then it would still require WP Show Posts.
You can of course use GPP 2.0 to design the layout of your Taxonomy ( Categories, Tags etc. ) Archives
