Recent Posts on Startpage (not with Gutenberg default Block)

Hello,

i use the Gutenberg Editor and was building a new Block with recent posts on my Startpage.

But this included Block in Gutenberg is not very nice. I wanted to edit more things into that Block, which is not possible.

I found https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-show-posts/ and saw, that this was last updated 12 months ago. So i am not sure, if the Plugin Development stopped with release of Gutenberg or is this Plugin still the way you display the last 6 posts on your front-page?

Also this plugin stopped 7 months ago https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/ Why?

I miss to configure background, framecolor and spacing on my "recent posts" block.

Can someone recommend a way to display the 6 recent posts on the fronpage, with the chance to configure some more thing than the Gutenberg Block can handle?

PS: This is not a Generatepress thing, but i think Tom wrote the first plugin so who could answer this first question better, if this plugin is still the way to do it or not :)
