Read More not showing up with one post

Hi,
I bought Generatepress and must say that it's great.
However I have a slight problem with the list of posts on the homepage. I have two posts active. The Blog Layout is set to using excerpts. The first post doesn't show the read more (lees meer in Dutch) link and the second one does. Both posts have an excerpt above the word count limit that I have set in the Blog Layout section.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,
looks like you're using a Custom Excerpt on your first post, which doesn't have the read more by default - you can add it using the PHP snippets provided here:
