Hi, I’m using the Volume template, and now I’d like to turn the blog page section to have all thumbnails to be the same. Now the first post is featured. I also want to change the columns from 2 columns to 3 columns. I’ve done that in the Customizer, but it caused the first post to look strange. See screenshot of the “3-columns”: https://ibb.co/zHJkhMM
I want to know how to make the first post on the left look like any other posts. Next, I’d like to change the image size to 1000px width by 1500px height. I’ve entered this in the customizer, but the sizes didn’t change. I’d like to change the design of the blog page to be like this: https://ibb.co/mSTyvhM and I’d like all my blog posts to look like this: https://ibb.co/kHX7q1Y
Where do I go to do this redesign of the blog page and blog posts?
Thank you for your help.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
so the Volume site uses the Block Element – Content Template, which is found in Appearance > Elements ( or can be seen in the Admin Bar > Elements menu when viewing a page ) :
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/
In Appearance -> Elements you will see a few elements, the two you’re interested in are:
Post Archive Template
– this holds the design of the post cards you see in the Blog Archives. It all applies to all posts except for the first post ( see below )— First Post Template
– this holds the design for the first post. You can Quick Edit > Set Status to Draft to disable this ( or Delete it ). And then the first post will look like the rest.Try that and let me know – and we can then look at the single posts.

Thanks David 🙂 I’m in the Post Archive Template and changed the image values as shown in this screenshot, but the size on the blog page stays the same. Is this the right place to change the image size? https://ibb.co/xM903G5. By the way, I’ve cloned the Post Archive Template so that I can save version 1 to draft and I’ve changed version 2 and published it. Will this affect what is showing in the front end? I’m not replacing any other code correct?

Hi Marilyn,
The Element set to draft won’t affect the look on the front end. If you copy and pasted/cloned the Element, the look should stay the same as well. Depending on how you cloned it, the ID of the Blocks might be different, but this shouldn’t affect anything unless there’s custom code targeting that ID, which by default, there isn’t. Basically, what you did should be alright and shouldn’t cause any issues.
As an alternative, you can try using a GB Image Block instead. So, first insert a GB Image Block, and set the width and the height in the Block settings. Then, in the Dynamic data section, enable dynamic data and set the source to Featured image.
