Question on transferring from dev site to live

Hello,
I've been working on my new theme with GP - Very easy to work with and enjoying it!
My question is this:
Right now, I had my host make a dev site, so all the links on my menu reflect the dev site in the links. It seems that I can do a lot on the dev site and instead of contacting them to push it to live, can I export the settings from the theme and import to my present site, making sure the "dev" part of the links go away?
Hope that makes sense because it seems I can do much of what I need to do, then use the export/import function in GP?
Thanks.
P.S. - the web url here is my "old" theme. I'm updating it to Generate Press
Hi there,
This might be a better question for your hosting support as they might have an option to do that already.
If not a plugin like this might help:

Hi Leo,
Thanks for the reply. I just went ahead and update the site and put it in maint. mode.
Things seem to be working well, although they did confirm that the links would "not" be transferred the way I needed.
Thanks again.
I do have another question though -
How can I remove the Author Information as well as the date on posts?
Try the options in the customizer:

Let me know :)
Hi,
That was very helpful. Now, I can't seem to find where to remove the "Leave a Comment" field on individual posts?
Does this help?

Any chance you can start new topic(s) for your questions?
Thanks :)
Sure enough. Sorry about that. I don't do this a lot so not sure of the process.
You've been helpful and I think I'm good.
No problem :)
It's much easier to tackle one question in one topic at the time.
