Put the navigation Search into the header with a hook

Is it possible to put the navigation search box into the header instead of having it inside the navigation bar? I have learned how to use hooks so could do it that way but I need the code to put into the hook element
Hi there,
Unfortunately the Navigation Search function only works if it is inside a Navigation.
It can be moved to the Secondary Navigation, if thats of any use?
Alternative would be to add a search plugin that provides its own shortcode.
