Problem: Widgets missing and error

Hello, I am a complete beginner with WordPress and just wanted to use a layout from this wonderful website here.
Unfortunately I ran into a problem: The widgets "search" are missing and also I get an error message when looking under widgets.
If I load the Catalyst layout without content, the sidebar is fully displayed. If I load the layout with the demo content, the error message is shown and for example the "Search" in the sidebar is missing.
What can I do?
Am I allowed to use the graphics (large image in Catalyst and the small rockets) on my own site? This would fit well with my content - I write about science fiction literature.
I would like to use the theme/layout accordingly as with the demo content. However, I would not want to do without the search function.

I just tried to import the Catalyst template, and I can't replicate the same error you have. Do you have other plugins activated other than the ones that come with the Catelyst import?

I might understand this wrong, but there's no search widget in the sidebar of Catalyst, you can add it by yourself though. But we have to figure out what're the errors in the widgets.

thanks, I deleted all additional plugins and the error did not occur again.
I am , as already noted, new to WordPress (previously Joomla) and still making mistakes.
