Yes, I’m still here.
Are you using a Child Theme? If not, it’s recommended to add that code through a plugin called Code Snippets. Reference: https://wordpress.org/plugins/code-snippets/

Yes, I’m using GeneratePress Child. I would like to stay away from using any more plugins. I’m using a lot of them as it is.

I see. For the Child Theme, the functions file should appear as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/kpuO2qYy
As shown, it’s the “Theme Functions” file.
Is this not appearing from your end?

I don’t see it where it seems it should be.
“Theme File Editor” is not under “elements” in my child theme. It appears to be missing.

You can see that it’s missing if you click the link.

It should be under Appearance.
If it’s not there, it may be a security setting doing that or a setting in place by your Hosting Provider.
You’ll need to check.
Alternatively, you should be able to access it through FTP as well. I found this article that could help: https://www.dreamhost.com/blog/guide-to-wp-functions/#:~:text=2.%20Access%20the%20File%20Through%20FTP
You’ll need to reach out to your Hosting Provider for assistance regarding this since the Theme File Editor isn’t appearing under Appearance.

No offence, but this is getting extremely frustrating. I should have easy access to that function file and be able to paste the code and be done with it.

I understand your frustration.
It’s not something GeneratePress can control though. Some servers, Hosting Providers, or security plugins intentionally disable the “Theme File Editor” for security purposes.
It should be there by default.
If you have a security plugin, you can try disabling that first.
To reiterate, GeneratePress has no control over whether the “Theme File Editor” appears or not. This is WordPress default, and other factors may cause it to not appear as mentioned.
Hope this clarifies!

I finally got in and added that code, and it doesn’t work on all the posts. If you go to my website and click on the posts (there aren’t that many) and scroll to the bottom you’ll see that some posts are working correctly, and some aren’t.
Why is that? Shouldn’t that code fix all the posts?

For reference, where did you get the code?
Moreover, out of curiosity, why not just use a Block Element – Post Navigation? This should be the easier and more consistent approach.

I don’t know how. It’s late, I want it fixed and I don’t want to go through a learning curve tonight.
I got that code from the page you gave me through the link you shared.

Well, if you’re open to it, there are a couple of templates that can be used. You don’t need to make any changes. You just need to assign the Display Rules settings and it should already work. Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/rRu5Ye4O
Debugging your custom code would also be out of our scope of support.
