Private Information Query

Not directly GP, but you guys are pretty awesome with your advice What plugin or code do you guys use to allow private information sharing (field below) on this forum? Is it encrypted in any way? Potentially interested in using something similar on one of my sites.
Hi there,
its custom developed by Tom. The content is dynamically displayed based on User Roles. The content is only served to a logged in Admin role. And only the Post Author can add Private Information.
I would expect that most forum plugins would have some extensions to provide a similar functionality.

I had a suspicion that was the case. I only asked, as, if it was a plugin, I would have trusted the one you guys use first :)
