I have been using the following code with older versions of GP to print the updated date at the top of each post, but the new version the functions seem to have changed and now I am printing twice. Can you advise on how to properly print the updated date with the new version of GP. Thanks.

Code:
Hi there,
Instead of all of that code, can you try this?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/show-the-updated-post-date/
This seems to display the date but it's not doing it in the same way as far as metadata or something and now google is picking up the original publish dates in the SERPs and I am getting destroyed in rankings. I really need help resolving this.
This method might be worth trying: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_post_date_output/#only-show-updated-date
That way only the updated date HTML will display on the page.
Ultimately, Google decides whether to show the published or updated date in their results.
