I recently updated both GP and GP Premium (and WordPress and all other plugins!). However, now all the content I had in the boxes on the hooks page has disappeared. I know this is now a legacy function, but I wasn’t expecting the content I had added in each of the hooks boxes to disappear completely! Any way of recovering these? I tried activating “Elements” to see if that would help, but my hooks are still missing.

    Hi there,

When you go to Dashboard > Appearance > Elements, do you see a button Legacy hook at the upper left corner?

    Let me know 🙂

Yes. The page loads but all the boxes for the hooks are empty.

    Hi there,

That’s strange – we haven’t had any reports like this since we moved to Elements. There isn’t a mechanism in the theme that deletes the code in the hooks.

What version did you update from? What happens if you deactivate Elements?

I hadn’t upgraded in quite some time — so I can’t remember the previous version, unfortunately. I do have some backups — are you able to tell me where in the database I can find where the hooks are stored so I can grab them from a backup? Thanks!

You should find an entry in wp_options called generate_hooks.

All of the hooks should be in there.

    Let me know 🙂
