Posts page and page title

When setting up one of the pages as the “Posts” page, the title of the page does not appear.
I created a page named “Publications” set it up as the posts page. I see all the posts but the title of the page is not there. I created a specific element to display a title using a hook, but wondered if this is the normal behavior.

Hi there,
the Posts / Blog page doesn't have the standard post title. You would need to add the title as HTML instead of trying to get the post title.

That's what I did, but thought from a user perspective it would be more logical that it would get that data from the site title.

That's a default Wordpress thing unfortunately.
The workaround solution is needed unless they make a change to this :)
