Post theme settings change after WP All Import...

Hi - I was hoping someone could help me with a rather annoying scenario I've got... I have a site running GeneratePress Premium theme and built in part using Toolset (Types, Views and Layouts) and I run an import of custom post types every day to create/edit/delete posts.

The layout of these posts is set using a page layout template that doesn't change and at the bottom of the layout are the GeneratePress Theme Options which I have set to display everything correctly on each of the posts. However, every time I run a WP All import to update these posts it appears that some of the GP options get reset or changed. The physical values in the Theme Options section don't change values but, for instance, the page now shows a sidebar superimposed on the right hand side of the page (even though this is set to Content/No Sidebar) and the Page Title that has been previously disabled is now showing.

I've tried editing the overall GeneratePress settings within the customiser so that there are no sidebars anywhere on the site, but when I run an Import it messes up again. Even though the values don't change in the theme options panel, if I go in and change one and change it back to how it was before and then save it, the page then shows as it should so all is back to normal until the next automated import.....

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Many thanks
Matt

Hi there,

if I go in and change one and change it back to how it was before and then save it, the page then shows as it should so all is back to normal until the next automated import

Can you explain this part a bit more?

Where are the imported pages coming from? Another WP install?

Thanks, Tom

The import is a WP All Import from a url that creates custom posts and updates existing ones. Once the import has run and the page layout has changed back to include a sidebar and a post title (which I don't want), I visit the Toolset layout page and deselect then reselect the theme options for no sidebar and disable post title (so effectively nothing has changed), then I save the layout page again and then everything is back to normal....

Does that make sense?

Thanks
Matt

The problem makes sense, but I'm not sure why that would happen.

If the options are set when you edit the page, they should be set on the frontend as well. WordPress uses the same function to select the checkboxes in the backend as they use to execute the functionality on the frontend.

Is the import process compatible with custom post meta?
