Plea for Help on placing containers in a container as in:
http://elt.international/reviews/I’ve spent more than a day searching for an answer on this topic. At the end of my second day I’m reaching out for help from the Pros. I expect there is a simple explanation someplace, but I have not found it??
My site is http://www.responsive-webdesign-tutorial.com/ .
Going to: Appearance > GP Hooks > Inside Content Container seems easy enough. It seems I should be able to use CSS and Html in the box.Placing this inside the box was successful:
[lgc_column grid=”50″ tablet_grid=”50″ mobile_grid=”100″ ]
This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes).
[/lgc_column]
[lgc_column grid=”50″ tablet_grid=”50″ mobile_grid=”100″ last=”true”]
This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes).
[/lgc_column]If I knew how to place two containers inside, side by side and position them I should be away.
Another handy thing would be to place a couple of new Hooks inside, side by side, etc.
I know this is simple stuff, but it has taken me a long while to get this far.
I feel GeneratePress is the best theme. I plan to write a good review soon and sometime have a page in my site promoting it.
Thank you,

Tom, an added question. How would we have each page different if we wished?

Hello Don, the http://elt.international/reviews/ site is using the masonry feature from GP.
Here is the GP demo: http://demo.generatepress.com/category/blog/If you have the BLOG ADDON, go the customizer > Blog > Masonry and set to enable. Your blog page should display the posts the way you want.
Check this video from GP Blog addon – https://youtu.be/P_5WLujAOjg

For the second question, you can have different layout for each page, you can set different sidebar layout, different widgets, disable a few elements on each page, you can set custom page header and a lot more.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperJean nailed it – you’re looking for the masonry option.
For having each page have a different layout, these articles may help:

Thank you Jean and Tom. Your response time is awesome. It puts GP at the head of the class. I now have a few days work mapped out.
My interest is wholly Website Design, not Blogging. I presume Masonry will work compatibly with this??
Many thanks. You are demonstrating yours is truly a Work of Love from Vancouver Island (The best place in Canada to live in my opinion).

Don,
The masonry layout is a fancy way to display your posts. At this moment you can only use this feature with posts.

Hello,
I have the same question as Don, I want, on my first page (static) and two others (non blog), insert boxes with text and videos. A kind of portfolio. But I just read John who says that is not possible.
Have you plug-in for it, because this is the purpose of my site: show my achievements vidéos.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Jean, for your prompt reply – as always.
In answer to both of our questions to you, I am wondering if a person could make a Blog page look just like a regular Web Page, but with no area for Blogging? This would enable us Web Page Designers to use Masonry.

For that kind of purpose, you should try to use one of these plugins: https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/masonry
I’ve never used any of them, but I think that maybe one will help you both to achieve your goals!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperAre you two basically wanting a masonry portfolio? So it would display like the masonry blog, but without using blog posts?

John thank you, I’ll watch this plug-in.
To answer the question, Tom, if we want a page without blog?
In a way yes. A static page without visitors messages. I can not ride my site because it is still local server MAMP. But I can do a screen shot or drawing. Roughly ca scared look to this page: http://wpmarmite.com or your page to you (https: //generatepress.com) after the text: GeneratePress is lightweight, powerful and easy to use! but with more photos or videos in each box.In my new site I want to insert the elements of my old site, page: http://www.negrelli.fr/p4_extraits_de_mes_realisations.html, for example.
Thanks for your help !

A big thank you for your advice! I’ll try and come back quickly to account. But even if I can not find the exact solution, I already thank you for your responsiveness and speed. Also have a team that listens, is frankly very safe!
Andrea
