Parent page feature not working when using a child theme

The option to select a parent page does not exist if I'm using a child theme.
The child theme is currently on a vanila state, no functions, just followed your documentation, downloaded child theme and activated it.
Also, page templates don't work either.
Do you mean this option doesn't work on your child theme?

I am using the child theme, I can't replicate this issue on my end.

Not sure what you mean, I don't recall there's an option to choose page templates in GP.
Let me know if I misunderstand the issue :)
