Some of the links in my menu are jump page links. They work on the same page, but when I click them from another page they land half way down the page, not on the anchor tag.

So, for example I have a menu with

    About
    Our Vision
    Our Story

All 3 of these are on the same page. So for Our Vision and Our Story I have:

    <h1 id="vision">Our Vision</h1>
    ....
    <h1 id="story">Our </h1>
    ....

    And in the menu

    https://mysite.com/about/#vision
    https://mysite.com/about/#story

Both of these drop down perfectly when you are on the About page, but as I said above, if you are on another page in the site (which is why the full URL is needed) they don’t go to the id tags, they just land mid-way down the page, for some reason.

    Any idea why?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Can you provide a link to your site? Thanks!

    Here you go:

    https://www.protectnatureto.org

Click on Natural Heritage, then click on Toronto’s Biodiversity. It jumps to the bottom of the page. Now try it from another menu and it jumps to only half way down the page. (I know it would help if there’s more content, but I’m working on this for a client and they haven’t provided it yet.)

    Thanks

Hmm not sure what you mean? This is what I’m seeing: http://www.screencast.com/t/KYhDR4xe4SRV

Both ways jump to the same spot.

That’s weird. It works perfectly for you. Maybe it’s a browser thing. I’m using Firefox. I’m going to wait until there’s more content and see what happens.

    Sounds good.

Let me know if you need us to have another look 🙂
