Page hero not showing on home page

Hi,
I created a page hero and it does not show up on the intended home page. If I change it to display on about page it shows up fine.
I tried deleting and re-adding the home page but this did nothing.
Thanks in advance of help.

for the home page you should select the Front Page in display rules.
I thought I'd tried that!
