Page hero not a hero?

Hello there,
I am using Zeal theme and trying to make a hero header for blog posts.
I have watched the video here.
Currently it looks like this:
My settings are basically the same as in the video, except for the background image:
Is there a setting in the theme customization I am missing or is misconfigured?

I was just confused why I needed to set the padding much higher to get a decent result, also needed to change the padding in customize > layout > header.
