Optimizing GP Speed

Hi there,
Based on the tips here https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/ do I have to install autoptimize only? Or it must be accompanied by another plugin cache such as w3 total cache or wp fastest cache ?
Because I read some information, that the autoptimize plugin must be accompanied by another plugin cache.

A caching plugin can certainly help, but it depends on your hosting.
If you're using a good host, they might offer built-in server caching, which means you don't need a plugin.
If there isn't built-in caching, you can always try out some caching plugins and test the speed with each of them.
